The use of social media marketing in figuring out how to get more likes on your Facebook page has become the biggest challenge when building a brand. The first thing every brand does is create a fan page, but this is only a quarter of the battle. Building a Facebook page is a great first step towards a project that requires dedication, time and energy. Here are a few tips you can use to quickly build a following and get those likes your brand needs:
1) Engage with your audience
Really. Be human. Be friendly, be engaged. Be in touch with your people. Facebook is a tool that can help you interact with your community. Figuring out how to get more likes on your Facebook can be as simple as figuring out who your audience is. Once you know who you’re trying to attract and target, you can craft messages that will not only inform your audience but engage them by piquing their interest. (I am assume your prospects are already on Facebook, otherwise go and find them somewhere else.)
Find other Facebook pages that your prospects might like, and then write a post / update on those pages. Get them involved with your brand / Facebook page. Download our free course to see how you can get your first 1000 likes. Use images and visuals in your updates. And finally, answer ALL comments people leave on your page.
Once you’ve created the content and shared it, be sure to engage your audience further by asking them to comment on it or to share it. Then if someone comments on a status update, be sure to respond promptly. Be active and update frequently.
2) Host a contest
Using Facebook’s contest feature will greatly benefit you when trying to increase Facebook page likes. Come up with a good incentive and use it to build interest, then post it to your page and ask your fans to participate. Creating regular contests can be a great tool for finding new fans and getting more likes on your page.
This way may be very common and considered old school, but it still works! If you can be more creative, then launch a creative contest. I have found Google Wildfire and Woobox helpful.
3) Facebook ads
You may think Facebook ads won’t make a big difference but you’d be wise to implement every tool you can find. Facebook ads are a great way to extend your reach a wider audience. You can set it up so that you target specific countries. And if you ever need to tweak the ad, you can do it in a few simple steps.
Based on our experience, advertising on a Facebook page (the brand) will get more attention than update ads. But keep in mind, increasing the number of likes doesn’t essentially increase your sales. Always advertise wisely.
4) Use the Facebook social plugin on your blog
In the search for more likes on your page, the use of plugins can be very important. The Facebook social plugin is a great way to let your blog followers know you’re on Facebook. Anyone who comes across your blog will also be exposed to your page and like it. The great thing about this tool is that readers or followers don’t have to go to your actual page to like it. They can simply click on like while on your blog and become a fan of your Facebook.
If you are using WordPress, you can easily install a plugin to handle your social media buttons.
5) Use large-size images to promote
When you want to post your blogs on your Facebook page, use a large-sized / related and hand-picked image. Use a long description and long links at the top of the update.
Highlight the update on your page. (We got an over 350% increase in engagement on our page by following this simple trick).
6) Write fantastic content
The most vital aspect when trying to find new fans and get more likes on Facebook is the content. Content is king – so make sure you write interesting, informative material or share such material on it. Fans will come with time but try to build the basis by sharing and creating good content worth reading.
The use of social media marketing for increasing Facebook page likes can be simple if implemented correctly. Try the above steps and let us know if you have any other pointers or questions. We’d be happy to hear your thoughts.
