I have strongly believed that the car industry needs a jump like Apple Inc.
The first company that develops a programmable vehicle with a touch screen infotainment system and manageable application will be successful for a decade.
3rd party developers have to be involved. These developers are needed to create the software to use the different sensor and hardware interfaces to be able to gather information about speed, gas level, temperature of outside or temperature of engine, GPS location, and even the cameras in the front and back.
We do not want a plain vehicle any more. We need one that can take advantage of the internet-rich world that already surrounds us. A Smart Phone on wheels.
